Read all the way to the end as there are a lot of things coming up!
This week is a big week for us with the Alma College Marching Invitational coming up! Here's the schedule:
Students arrive at High School at 7:00 am to get in uniform and load up.
Leave Tawas: 7:45 am
Arrive: 10:15 am
Warm-ups: 10:45 am
Travel: 11:15 am
Peformance: 11:30 am
We will have lunch after our performance. Students need to bring $10 or so to buy lunch at the concessions stands (they usually have a pretty good selection) as well as some $$ to stop for dinner on the way home . Students can also bring a change of clothes for after the performance. Please keep your colors for after the performance Red and White as we are still representing our school in the stands (and Drum Majors will need to be in uniform for the Awards Ceremony).
Also, BE SURE TO HAVE A BLACK T-SHIRT for underneath your uniforms. No jewelry, no piercings, no crazy hair colors, please!
Awards are at 3:40 pm.
After the awards we will be leaving for Tawas (and also stopping for dinner on the way home).
My best guess for arrival back in Tawas is around 7-7:30 pm. If you are signed up for the HS Band Mailing list, I will send a message to your cell phone when we are approx. 30 min. from the High school so you know when to pick up your student if you can't make the drive to Alma.
Sectionals This Week:
Tuesday 3-4 pm Flutes and Clarinets
Wednesday: 5-6 pm Trumpets, 6-7 pm Drumline and Pit (changed due to Boosters Meeting)
Thursday: 7-8 pm Alto and Mellophone Sectional
Friday: I'll need help loading up after school 3-4 pm. Leave a comment on this page if you can help with that. Thanks!

****Booster's Meeting this Thursday 6-7 pm in the High School Library**** As a Band Parent you are a Band Booster and I'm needing some major help with a lot of upcoming projects---don't wait for me to ask you---come and find out what you can do to help out and get involved!
We need help with:
- Points Chairperson
- Quilt Raffle Chairperson
- Help with Band Bazaar coming up in November
October 17th: 6th and 7th Grade Band Concert 7 pm at the Middle School
I'll need a few parents willing to help out with watching students in the warm-up rooms and supervising in the hallways. If you can help out with this, leave me a comment (and be sure to tell me what you want to help out with!)
October 19th: SVSU Clarinet Workshop
Departure time will be posted soon but I do probably one other parent with a large vehicle to help transport students (I'll have the school van). I'm guessing departure time will be around 9 am but more info to come later this week!
Oct. 25th: Last High School Marching Band Football Game
Oct. 26th and 27th: All State Auditions at AuGres High School for selected students (not for full band). Times to be posted soon! Students do need to provide their own transportation to this event.
And last but not least, we'll have our Annual Fruit Sale Kicking off October 18th and running through November 1st.... whew!
Put all of these on your calendar as they will be coming up fast!
