Happy Sunday! We had a great start to this week (or finish to this week depending on how you look at it!) with our East Shore Wind Symphony Trip! Thanks to all of our chaperones and the great group of students who went with us to see this fine group perform and some of our old Alumni perform (Courtany McGee and Heather Britt, both "retired" Drum Majors). I know the Symphony I gave us all chills but those soon disappeared with their grant arrangement of Amazing Grace as well as a great finisher with Salute to America's Finest (yes, the same arrangement that we perform at our Memorial Day Ceremonies).
Just a few things this week:
1. Our Fundraiser items are coming this Thursday after school. Please make arrangements to pick them up between 3 pm and 4:30 pm. You'll also have the chance to pick them up between 6 and 6:30 pm.
2. Thursday will be our Tech Day for Jazz Band and Concert Band (as we have a number of students who will be gone for Knowledge Bowl).
3. This is the last week before All State Band Auditions. Times are posted here under last week's announcements. Please make sure you sign up for a practice slot with me at least once before your audition. I'm NOT doing any late Friday night practices before this weekend. This is not an audition you can cram for---trust me!
ALL STATE AND 7TH/8TH GRADE PRACTICE SIGN-UP
4. It's time for 9th-12th Grade students to start thinking about Solo and Ensemble sign-up. You can register for Solos/Duets/Trios, etc. but you can't do more than 3 events unless those events are our big Chamber groups (of 9 or more students, typically our Percussion Ensemble).
Here's the registration form for 9th-12th Grade Solo and Ensemble:
